The opportunity
As our WHS & People Governance Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting UniSuper by leading Work Health Safety (WHS) practices and driving contemporary governance processes. You'll help keep our business safe, ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, and work within the People team to minimise risk and proactively improve safety and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage all WHS activities, reporting, and compliance for a safe and efficient workplace.
- Coordinate Workcover cases and facilitate smooth return-to-work processes.
- Lead wellbeing initiatives and integrate them with WHS objectives.
- Deliver and educate on HR policies, guides, and processes across the People team.
- Support effective HR governance to mitigate people risks, including compliance, risk, and audit reports.
- Assist Risk Managers with oversight and administration of risk and governance activities.
- Use data, employee insights, and best practice research to strengthen our approach.
Success in this role means continuously improving employee-centric policies and processes, enhancing our WHS and wellbeing program, and fostering a safe, positive, and empowered workplace.
About you
- Experience in Human Resources or a related field, including WHS and Return to Work coordination.
- Understanding of HR legislation, risk, and governance frameworks.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, innovative, and collaborative mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proven initiative and continuous improvement delivery.
- Attention to detail, ability to set priorities, and manage tight deadlines.
- Organised, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Excel, MS Office, and related tools.
