The Opportunity

Are you passionate about improving patient care through smart scheduling and operational excellence? We are in the lookout for a Senior Community Operations Officer to join our dynamic team. This newly created role is pivotal to ensure the smooth coordination of staff schedules and supports operational excellence across our home health services. You'll work closely with the Community Operations Manager and the PSO team, People Leaders, and service delivery teams.

The key responsibilities of the role focused on:

  • Scheduling & Rostering

You'll be responsible for creating and overseeing efficient staff schedules that align with service delivery targets. This includes optimising resources based on geography and skill sets, adjusting rosters in real-time, and ensuring all visits are covered.

  • Operational Support

You'll support the day-to-day operations of the team, including onboarding and training new staff, resolving scheduling issues, and coordinating logistics such as stock management and courier services

  • Governance & Accuracy

Maintaining accurate scheduling data and documentation is key. You'll monitor for recurring issues, ensure compliance with policies and contracts, and manage rostering frameworks that support consistent and quality service delivery.

  • Continuous Improvement

You'll lead efforts to improve scheduling processes by identifying opportunities for optimisation and advocating for best practices. Your role includes educating stakeholders and contributing to more efficient, cost-effective service delivery models.

This is a full-time, onsite role based at the Adelaide Amplar Health Hub, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm—applicants must reside in Adelaide, SA and be available to work on location.

About You

The ideal candidate will be passionate about customer service, with strong interpersonal and conflict management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. They'll bring initiative and innovation to the role, aligning and empowering the team while driving a positive team culture. A natural relationship builder, they'll recognise and leverage team strengths, foster collaboration, and resilience.

Additionally, the candidate will bring:

  • 3+ years' experience in large-scale rostering or workforce planning.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (advance excel is advantageous).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Focus on dynamic, real-time scheduling—requiring someone who can think ahead, adapt quickly, and make confident decisions under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Experience in hospital or community scheduling.
  • Analytical skills and experience producing reports.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and rostering methodologies and best practices.
