Litigation Associate – Commercial / Class Actions

Gordon Legal is seeking a committed and experienced Litigation Associate to join our Commercial and Class Actions team. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact litigation, including complex class actions, within a firm driven by social justice and a strong sense of purpose.

We are looking for a lawyer with strong litigation experience and a solid foundation in commercial law, who is passionate about delivering meaningful outcomes for clients and contributing to large-scale proceedings that make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and practical legal advice to clients and group members
  • Lead and support the conduct of complex class action litigation
  • Draft pleadings, affidavits, correspondence, and court documents
  • Manage discovery and evidence in large-scale proceedings
  • Prepare briefs for counsel and liaise with experts
  • Engage with group members and stakeholders with empathy and professionalism
  • Contribute to litigation strategy and case development
  • Advise on a range of commercial matters including contracts, governance, and disputes
  • Occasionally contribute to client relationship development and business development initiatives
  • Mentor junior lawyers and graduates within the team

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum three years' experience in commercial litigation or class actions
  • Strong litigation and advocacy skills, with experience in Federal Court practice
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and client-focused outcomes
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented culture
