Who is Shift?
We're business specialists dedicated to helping Australian SMEs take control of their cashflow, streamline trade terms and choose the right financial products.

We believe Australian businesses are the driving force behind our economy and are core to our communities. About the role:
We're looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Product Owner who thrives in fast-paced, scale-up environments and knows what it takes to deliver high-quality outcomes on time.

In this role, you'll take ownership of delivering new products and features end-to-end, playing a key part in shaping Shift's digital roadmap. You'll work cross-functionally with developers, designers, business stakeholders, and senior leadership to bring great ideas to life and drive measurable business outcomes.

What you'll do:

  • Define and own the product roadmap, aligned to customer needs and business goals
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle in an Agile environment – from ideation to delivery and iteration
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to gather insights and align on priorities
  • Design, prototype, and test new features and enhancements in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Prioritise and manage the product backlog, ensuring it's always refined and ready for development
  • Work with developers, QA, and other team members to deliver on key initiatives
  • Monitor and report on key success metrics for product releases and feature adoption
  • Take ownership and drive corrective action for initiatives that aren't tracking to plan

What you'll have:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Product Owner in tech-driven environments
  • Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • A background working on complex, customer-focused digital products with multiple flows and integrations
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on delivery mindset
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills – from developers to senior executives
  • A data-informed mindset – you understand customer needs through data and feedback
  • Experience working across multiple teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for building great products

Key benefits:

  • Collaborative teams – a flat structure means everyone can learn from colleagues and senior leaders around the business.
  • Be involved – come together with all of your colleagues every 100 days to share the product and technology roadmap and business strategy.
  • Flexible working environment – we're headquartered in North Sydney with state-based workplaces and offer a flexible work policy.
  • Family support – industry leading 26 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Varied workspaces – our office enables areas for collaboration, brainstorming and socialising as well as focus zones.
  • Range of benefits supporting your physical, psychological and financial wellbeing. From a day off on your birthday to excellent end of trip facilities.
