About the role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Supervisor to join our team at Neater Constructions (Q) Pty Ltd' in Cairns, QLD. As a Carpenter Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating all trades including the carpentry work on our construction projects, ensuring high-quality work and efficient project delivery.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and coordinate a team(s) of carpenters and other tradespeople on construction sites

• Ensure all carpentry work is completed to the highest standards and in accordance with plans and specifications

• Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to address any issues or concerns

• Oversee the procurement of materials and tools, and manage on-site OH&S inventory

• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior carpenters and apprentices

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the carpentry work & onsite OH&S

• Promote and implement a safe and efficient work environment on site at all times

• Report as necessary to the Construction Manager

• Regularly provide updates on cost management of appointed jobs

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience as a Carpenter, with a proven track record of supervising and leading carpentry teams

• Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and equipment

• Have the knowledge and ability to effectively use computer software and related construction industry technology

• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

• Commitment to safety and quality standards in the construction industry

• Relevant carpentry qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent

• Hold a Supervisors Licence (QBCC)
