What we are looking for:
We are seeking a highly motivated, tech-savvy, and data-driven Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role goes beyond traditional accounting—your mandate is to help modernise, automate, and enhance the way we work, leveraging analytics and emerging technologies to deliver smarter, faster insights. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and the broader business, combining accounting expertise with data acumen to strengthen financial outcomes and support strategic decision-making. Success in this role requires curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for technology as much as technical accounting knowledge.

Financial Reporting

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive accuracy and integrity of financial statements through data-driven reconciliations and automated checks.
  • Present complex financial data to management using modern visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).

General Ledger & Core Accounting

  • Perform core accounting tasks (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis), automating wherever possible to free up time for insight and value-add.
  • Use analytics to detect patterns, anomalies, or risks in the general ledger.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that leverage technology and AI-enabled solutions.

Data Analytics & Insights

  • Extract, transform, and analyse datasets from multiple systems to generate actionable insights.
  • Build and maintain financial models and dashboards that support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure data quality, governance, and accessibility across the business.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, decision-ready insights for non-financial stakeholders.

Process Innovation & Automation

  • Lead initiatives to automate manual accounting processes using AI, RPA (robotic process automation), and advanced analytics.
  • Continuously scan for opportunities to apply new technologies that improve accuracy, speed, and scalability of finance operations.
  • Champion a "digital finance" mindset within the team, helping colleagues adopt and adapt to modern tools.

Audit & Risk

  • Support external and internal audits, but with a focus on proactive, data-led control monitoring.
  • Apply analytics to highlight control gaps and mitigate risks before they materialise.

Ad Hoc & Projects

  • Participate in projects such as system upgrades, data integrations, AI proof-of-concepts, and new product launches.
  • Use financial and operational data to inform strategic initiatives across the business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • CA, CPA, or equivalent preferred, but not essential if balanced by strong data/analytics capability.
  • 2–4 years' experience in financial accounting or related roles, with a proven track record of leveraging data and automation to improve outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, or other analytics tools.
  • Exposure to AI, RPA, or finance transformation projects highly regarded.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—able to bridge finance, technology, and business teams.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and driven by a mindset of continuous improvement.
