Location: Western Downs, QLD

Role Overview: As O&M Technician, you will report to and assist the O&M Plant Manager in the comprehensive operations and maintenance of our solar plants. Your role will involve performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and maintaining detailed records. You'll be pivotal in maintaining plant availability, liaising with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Monitoring: Maintain plant performance and ensure all equipment operates optimally, adhering to all instructions and relevant guidelines and legislations. Conduct visual inspections, thermographic testing, RCA and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintenance: Conduct preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance in line with OEM recommendations and safety standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and rectify faults swiftly to minimise downtime.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities and operational events.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with clients, grid operators, O&M Plant manager and local authorities to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to WHS standards, ensuring a safe working environment for self and others.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Licence: Valid AU Electrical Licence (state-specific). Unrestricted electrical licence.
  • Construction White Card: Required for site access.
  • Driver's Licence: Full AU driver's licence.
  • HV Switching Ticket: Current and valid, with experience in PLQ switching protocols.
  • Experience: 4+ years in a similar role, with a strong background in electrical fieldwork, HV/MV switchyards, and substation operations.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and renewable energy operations.
  • Proficiency in CMMS, SCADA, HV/MV switchyards and PV Array and other relevant systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Work rights in Australia: Unrestricted work rights in Australia required.
