Dalby, Australia Phone Care Australia Full time $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Company overview:

Founded in 2012, Phone Care has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality repair services for mobile phones, tablets, PCs, and laptops. Our team of skilled and experienced technicians is committed to providing reliable, efficient, and customer-focused solutions. In addition to our repair services, we offer an extensive range of phone and computer accessories to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

The company has strategically expanded to fifteen (15) retail stores across Queensland and New South Wales, with all locations situated in regional areas of Australia. This expansion reflects our commitment to bringing convenient, high-quality services and products to local communities. The Senior Retail Manager we are seeking will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our Dalby, Inverell, Armidale, Tamworth, and Grafton stores.

As part of our continued growth — particularly our expansion into the PC and computer repair sector — we are seeking an experienced Senior Retail Manager to oversee and lead our regional retail operations. This role is critical to ensuring the successful execution of our expansion plans and maintaining operational excellence across multiple stores. We offer competitive remuneration, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive, dynamic work environment.

Key responsibilities:

The Senior Retail Manager will oversee the end-to-end operations of multiple retail stores, ensuring smooth workflows, outstanding customer service, and strong financial performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Determine the range of products and services offered based on market trends, customer demand, and profitability analysis.
  • Manage inventory levels, order stock, and ensure timely availability of parts, accessories, and tools.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue, including promotional campaigns, upselling, and cross-selling initiatives.
  • Oversee and analyse store financial performance, including revenue tracking, expense control, and profitability reporting.
  • Establish and adjust pricing structures and discount strategies based on cost analysis, market research, and competitor benchmarking.
  • Set and uphold service standards, ensure prompt resolution of customer inquiries and complaints, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise retail staff, providing clear direction and fostering a collaborative, motivated workplace culture.
  • Prepare forecasts, allocate financial resources efficiently, and ensure optimal use of store budgets.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, merchandising standards, and effective product displays.
  • Ensure adherence to legal requirements, workplace safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare operational and financial reports, and manage sales, inventory, and staff documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
  • Stay updated on the latest mobile and PC technology trends, products, and services to provide informed recommendations and adapt business strategies.

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Qualification in Retail Management, or alternatively, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as a Store or Retail Manager.
  • Background in IT is highly desirable, given the company's expansion into PC and computer repair services.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with a strong ability to engage with customers and build positive relationships.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate staff, delegate tasks effectively, and provide clear direction to achieve organizational goals.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer issues promptly and professionally.
  • Extensive experience in recruiting, training, and supervising retail staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sales strategies, including upselling and cross-selling, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Advanced understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, inventory valuation, profit margin optimisation, and analysing profit and loss (P&L) statements to drive informed business decisions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retail products and services, with the ability to stay updated on emerging industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Skilled in interpreting sales data, KPIs, and market trends to develop effective business strategies and enhance operational performance.
  • High level of accuracy in managing inventory, pricing, reporting, and other operational tasks.
