Diesel Fitter/Maintenance Fitter

About the role

FreshGro Tasmania is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter/Maintenance Fitter to join our team in our Richmond, Tasmania facility. This is a full-time role, offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. As a Diesel Fitter/Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy machinery, Farm equipment and agricultural harvesters, as well as our processing facilities, stainless processing machines, and ensuring efficient and reliable operations.

With operations in Queensland as well, you will be required to travel to assist in our farming and processing operations in Queensland. Great opportunity to travel and help build our rapidly growing leafy greens business.

What you'll be doing

1. Carry out routine maintenance and servicing on a variety of diesel-powered equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and other farm machinery and stainless processing equipment.
2. Hands-on skills, including welding (Tig, MIG, stick), and hydraulic experience.
3. Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and maximise uptime
4. Experienced in Food production, Farm equipment, Ag, and manufacturing
5. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
6. Servicing, inspecting and repairing a wide range of Ag machinery and Equipment.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Diesel Fitter or Maintenance Fitter, preferably in an industrial or agricultural setting
2. Strong technical knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems
3. Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
4. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Commitment to safety and attention to detail
7. Forklift licence and/or trade qualifications would be highly regarded
8. Able to travel to Qld to work with the director on expansions and new Ag tech developments, including automation in manufacturing.
9. Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent
