Based in Rockingham, Independent Timber Supplies is a Western Australian leading supplier of timber, and frame and truss housing solutions. Our purpose is to be pivotal in timber supply that brings to life our customers conceptions, while providing high levels of service and quality.

The Role:

The Operations Manager Distribution will oversee daily operations and ensure a high level of quality across departments. This role requires strong leadership with multiple direct reports and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.  Responsibility for delivering on our commitments and ensuring customer expectations are exceeded is pivotal to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, resources and processes.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align operations with overall business objectives.
  • Manage budgets, inventory, and resource planning.
  • Oversee quality control and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify areas for process optimization and lead change management initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor operational staff.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management.

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role.
  • Practical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities, solution focused mindset with clear and collaborative communication style.
  • Quality control responsibility for the whole department, establish and uphold standards of high performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and accountabilities.
  • Risk and Compliance understanding, and able to keep up to date with legislation and implementing changes displaying a change positive attitude.
