The role

We are looking for enthusiastic, positive and experienced Facility Managers, Gardeners and Maintenance Officers to represent Danihers Facility Management in Suburbs of Melbourne. At Danihers, we pride ourselves on our values, our people, the environment and sustainability.

Do you have...

Facility and Maintenance

• Strong work ethics, including the ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team.
• Strong experience in grounds and general building maintenance, preferably in a school environment.
• Good time management and excellent communication skills.
• An understanding of OH&S, Quality and Environmental Management systems.
• Passion to deliver high-quality services.
• Ability to work under pressure, including an eye for detail.
• Carpentry experience or are you an experienced handy man?

Gardening

• Strong work ethics, including the ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team.
• Experience in grounds and garden maintenance is essential, preferably in a school environment.
• General maintenance experience i.e. handyperson work (not essential, but looked upon favourably)
• Good time management and excellent communication skills.
• An understanding of OH&S, EMS and Quality Management systems.
• Passion to deliver high-quality services.
• Ability to work under pressure, and an impressive eye for detail.

Facility and Maintenance

• A professional attitude and consultative approach to issues, tasks and ideas.
• Well-developed decision-making skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without losing focus on service delivery.
• Demonstrating a priority for high quality in process and outcomes.
• The ability to deliver integrity by building a trusting & open relationship with clients & business partners.
• Being flexible is a must.
• Always approachable by exerting excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Exhibit passion about the industry and show pride in the responsibilities of the role.
• A valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to apply.

Gardening

• Experience in using brush cutter, hand mowers, edges, trimming hedges and blowers
• Experience in the use of a ride on mower
• Experience in the operation of a front deck mower
• Chemical use ticket
• Experience in the operation of an oval cylinder mower
• Assisting the Facility team
• A professional attitude and consultative approach to issues, tasks and ideas

• Maintaining plant and equipment used for gardens and grounds
• Basic knowledge of gardening eg what is a weed and a plant

Previous experience working in a fast paced school environment is advantageous, but not essential.

Trade qualification in carpentry or building construction is essential to be successful in this role.
