Orion Fire Engineering is seeking an Assembly / Production Tradesman to join our team.

Orion Fire is an Australian owned leading provider of high-performance industrial fire protection systems. Our products have been deployed to protect major assets all over the world. Established in 1985, the company has developed into a market-leader and continues to evolve and apply its expertise into new applications.

As an Assembly / Production Tradesman you will be directly involved in the day-to-day operations of the Orion production factory assembling mechanical and mechatronic products.

· Experienced in manufacturing high quality products.

· Trade qualified.

· Passionate about quality craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembling a variety of products.
  • Performing production tests to ensure equipment meets requirements.
  • Performing QA inspections on incoming goods.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised factory environment.
  • Reporting production issues to the Factory Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Team-work and collaboration.
  • Dedicated to producing a high-quality product.
  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Hands on experience in previous factory or assembly positions.
  • Trade/engineering qualification

Preferred:

  • Valid forklift license
  • Experience using metal working machines (Lathe, Mill, Bandsaw etc)
  • Comfortable with DC wiring - production quality
