As Principal, Operational Risk& Governance, you will lead the development and implementation of a market best-practice risk governance and control framework for IAGs Chief Investment Office (CIO). This is a critical leadership role, responsible for managing operational risk across multi-asset portfolios, driving compliance, and ensuring robust controls that support trading and investment activities. Youll collaborate with senior stakeholders, oversee risk in change initiatives, and guide a team through transformation projects, including system and operating model enhancements. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes and position the CIO for long-term success.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).
What You'll Do
- Lead the Line 1 Risk function within CIO, collaborating with Group Risk to deliver best-practice governance and controls.
- Develop, implement, and manage the CIO Risk Profile and Compliance Plan.
- Oversee risk event reporting, resolution, and escalation to senior management and stakeholders.
- Drive operational risk reviews, control testing, and remediation to ensure robust frameworks.
- Lead CIO engagement with audit, IT, and third-party risk management processes.
- Manage operational risk in change initiatives, including business transformation and regulatory updates.
What You'll Bring
- Extensive proven expertise in financial services with a focus on operational risk and governance.
- Proven experience leading Line 1 risk functions within a Chief Investment Office or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of operational risk and compliance for multi-asset portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to lead investment operating model and system change agendas.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including board-level engagement.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance or Business; postgraduate degree highly regarded.
