Youth Support Coordinator

An excellent temporary part-time opportunity exists for a Youth Support Coordinator to make a positive impact in the community at Toogoolawah State High School.

In this role, you will refer at-risk students to appropriate agencies and support services to assist them in overcoming barriers to education and training.

You will provide individual support, case management and, where appropriate, group support to students to maximise their engagement with education and training.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.60FTE), 36hours per fortnight.

About the Role

As the Youth Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting at-risk students to overcome barriers to education and training. You will work closely with students, families, and the broader school community to ensure students remain engaged and achieve positive learning outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Referring at-risk students to appropriate agencies and support services to address barriers to education and training.
• Providing individual support, case management, and group support to maximise student engagement.
• Developing and fostering relationships between the school, students, and their families to support educational engagement.
• Monitoring attendance patterns and implementing early intervention strategies in line with the school's attendance plan.
• Developing and implementing programs to support social and emotional wellbeing, such as social skills or self-esteem initiatives.
