About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Medicine - Rose Ward team as Associate Nurse Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering expert, patient-centered nursing care while overseeing and coordinating clinical activities to ensure excellent health outcomes within the ward.
  • Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in leadership duties, including staff performance management, recruitment, rostering, and resource planning to maintain smooth ward operations.
  • Championing best practice by assisting with the implementation of practice changes, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits to maintain high standards of care.
  • Facilitating a positive learning environment through mentoring, clinical teaching, and supporting professional development for nursing staff and students.
  • Collaborating across disciplines and contribute to the continuous review and enhancement of nursing protocols, guidelines, and ward operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding (or eligible for) a current practicing certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration nursing experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse.
  • Proven competence in nursing practice relevant to the specialty area, aligned with professional standards.
  • Experience supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, quality improvement systems, and contemporary nursing/midwifery practices and ethics.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary healthcare settings.
