About the Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing services within a quaternary health care environment. Drawing on your experience and/or further study, you will continue developing from a competent to a proficient practitioner, while accepting accountability for your own practice and supporting the growth of less experienced staff. This role allows you to provide safe, person-centred care while contributing to a supportive and collaborative team culture.

In addition, you will assist the Nurse Unit Manager in leading and guiding the nursing team, helping to foster a positive and professional workplace. With responsibility for a designated portfolio, you will promote continuity and consistency of care, support the implementation of practice changes, and contribute to a range of management activities such as recruitment, rostering, leave management, performance processes and resource planning. This is an exciting opportunity to combine clinical expertise with leadership, while making a meaningful impact on both staff development and patient care.

About You

You are a dedicated and experienced nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting the development of others. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nursing Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a practising certificate.
  • At least 3 years post-registration experience (or current Clinical Nurse classification) with demonstrated competence in acute and chronic nursing practice.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of professional standards, codes and quality improvement systems, along with a flexible and innovative approach to healthcare challenges.
