About the Role

As a Blast Engineering & Business Development Specialist, you'll combine blast engineering expertise with client engagement to deliver safe, efficient, and value-driven outcomes for our mining and quarrying customers.

You'll be involved in everything from blast design and data analysis to on-site technical support and business growth initiatives — no two days the same.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and optimise blasting solutions across quarry and mining projects.
  • Provide field support and mentoring on advanced blasting equipment.
  • Prepare and manage quality documentation — from Blasting Management Plans to survey data.
  • Analyse blast performance and deliver actionable insights to clients.
  • Partner with customers to identify improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to tenders and proposals with strong technical input.
  • Represent Impact Drill & Blast at industry events and build trusted client partnerships.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mining Engineering (or related field).
  • Licensed Shotfirer with 5+ years' experience in mining or quarry blasting — or equivalent hands-on blast engineering experience.
  • Proven ability in blast design, vibration control, and explosives operations.
  • Strong communicator able to translate technical detail for all audiences.
  • Safety-first mindset and collaborative approach.
  • Current Australian manual driver's licence and ability to pass pre-employment checks.
