Role Title:
IT Security Engineer – Council

Mid October 2025 – Mid January 2026

Location:
East Gippsland (Bairnsdale or Sale office) – Onsite presence required

About the Role

We are seeking a well-rounded IT Security professional to support a range of infrastructure and security uplift activities across our East Gippsland sites. This hands-on role will suit someone with broad technical expertise and a proactive approach to modernising legacy systems and improving security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Security Upgrades

  • Decommission legacy software and unsupported applications
  • Migrate from legacy MPS Server 2012 R2 to modern platforms
  • Transition to Aruba ClearPass for network access control
  • Enable and configure Palo Alto firewalls, including GPS traffic filtering

Cloud & Email Security

  • Review and remediate vulnerabilities in Exchange Online
  • Assist with DNS record updates and media configurations

Endpoint & Policy Management

  • Support Windows 11 rollout, including SOE refinement and policy updates
  • Install and configure password managers
  • Apply security patches and manage incidentals

General Support & Escalations

  • Provide support for escalated IT security incidents
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation of changes

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure and security roles
  • Strong understanding of Windows environments, cloud platforms, and firewalls
  • Experience with Aruba ClearPass, Palo Alto, Exchange Online, and Windows 11
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Willingness to travel to and work from East Gippsland offices (Bairnsdale or Sale)
