Abbey Beach Resort, one of the South West's leading resorts, is seeking a Full-Time Handyperson/ Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong general maintenance skills who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the Resort's property, plant, and equipment are maintained to the highest standard. From preventative maintenance to urgent repairs, you'll help keep our beautiful resort running smoothly for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out preventative and routine maintenance on equipment, facilities, and infrastructure
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs where competent
  • Assist in maintaining and treating water supply for our commercial swimming pools
  • Support carpentry tasks such as repairs to counters, benches, partitions, or other wooden structures
  • Ensure work areas and maintenance sites are kept clean, tidy, and safe
  • Use hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and machinery as required
  • Assist fellow maintenance team members as needed
  • Report issues promptly and follow internal procedures for repair and fault logging
  • Actively participate in safety practices, hazard identification, and reporting
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in a general maintenance, facilities, or handyman role
  • Trade qualification is not required, but highly regarded
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence
  • Experience with tools, equipment, and basic mechanical troubleshooting
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive attitude
  • Flexible, adaptable, and reliable
