About the opportunity
We are currently seeking 2 highly motivated, appropriately qualified and skilled Gardeners to work in a small team environment on a permanent, full-time basis, to undertake the maintenance and landscape improvement works of our public greenspace areas.
You will be assisting the crew in the servicing and maintenance of our premier passive greenspace area, to ensure a high-level, quality horticultural service is performed and the landscape finish remains safe, attractive and inviting to use to our park visitors.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Certificate III Horticulture or equivalent, or satisfactory completion of an indentured Apprenticeship as a Gardener
- Extensive experience in maintenance of gardens and landscaped areas including annuals, exotic, native, high profile gardens, etc
- Chemical Application Accreditation
- Current C class driver's licence.
Desirable:
- Current MR driver's licence
- Traffic Controller Implementation Accreditation
- First Aid Certificate.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,362.15 per week
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
