About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager Regulatory & Consumer Policy, and working closely with the Director and Senior Policy Adviser, you'll support the delivery of a high-impact project to redraft the General Insurance Code of Practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting targeted research to inform the Code Redraft.
  • Supporting the coordination of committee and working group meetings – including logistics, papers, minutes, and governance.
  • Contributing to the design and development of the new Code in collaboration with ICA members and senior advisers.
  • Assisting in drafting high-quality policy content and engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Preparing research briefs and updates for senior executives.
  • Supporting relationship management with regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with ICA policies and procedures.

About You

You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with:

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in policy, law, finance, or economics.
  • Experience in public policy development and project management.
  • Strong understanding of the financial services regulatory environment, including self-regulation.
  • Excellent communication skills – especially in writing clear, impactful policy documents.
  • The ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • A genuine interest in the general insurance industry and consumer outcomes.
