Job Purpose is:
To uplift internal finance processes and systems to a suitable standard to enable our next phase of growth, through technical accounting capability and change management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility Key Area
- Map out current processes and functions including key controls, duplication of activities and assess for opportunities to enhance processes
- Automate or partially automate tasks in excel
- Conduct reviews of the control environment including recommendations for improvements then implement those recommendations
- Participate in finance projects, including system implementations
- Ensure robust financial controls and processes, and accurate and timely close of month-end
- Support for monthly financial reporting, analysis, and providing commercial insights
- Support oversight of accounting systems and reconciliation of general ledger accounts where required
- Support the review and analyse of business unit performance against budgets and forecasts in a finance business partner capacity
- Support audit and tax compliance, coordinating the audit process
Qualifications and Experience:
- Holds a degree in accounting and a CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent)
- Has 5+yrs experience in a corporate accounting, and ideally a Chartered background
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail; capable of managing multiple deadlines and exhibiting strong time management skills
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing IFRS/AASB compliance financial statements and addressing technical accounting matters
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with system go-live, and process mapping projects (ideal)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Naturally curious and proactive, demonstrating the ability to independently initiate and successfully complete projects with high-quality outcomes
