Research Assistant

• Full time, fixed term until December 2026

About the opportunity

The Research Assistant contributes to the development of research protocols and driving the execution of research activities. They streamline grant application processes, provide vital research-related advice, and manage data analysis. They also collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of research documentation.

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join Professor Luigi Fontana at the Central Clinical School located within the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• assist with the coordination and execution of routine research tasks under direction.

• support researchers in the preliminary stages of grant application by gathering necessary data and documentation

• ensure adherence to research protocols and assist with sourcing information to assist research work

• support data collection activities, ensuring accuracy in data entry and its storage for further analysis

• engage with stakeholders to address concerns and gather feedback, maintaining effective communication channels and collaborating with the team to enhance stakeholder relations

• undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required.

About you

• experience in working in a research-intensive environment

• experience coordinating and/or managing grant application process

• experience in research administration and conducting scientific literary searches

• experience in carrying out literacy searches and preparing literary reviews for further analysis

• you will be an excellent communicator both oral and written 

• tertiary qualifications in a relevant field

• ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
