About the Role:

We are currently seeking an outstanding academic to lead our institute's next phase of development. The successful candidate will oversee the integration of research functions, focusing on enhancing scientific impact.

This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team of researchers engaged in studies from discovery science to clinical and applied research. Key responsibilities include fostering collaboration across disciplines, ensuring robust governance frameworks, and nurturing the next generation of researchers.

The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision and leadership to advance our global reputation for innovation and excellence in ophthalmology.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent higher research degree in a relevant field, along with professional qualifications
  • An international reputation as a leader in their discipline, supported by a strong research profile
  • A distinguished record of supervising higher degree research students
  • A wide network of established relationships with key academic, industry, and professional partners and stakeholders
  • Significant experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of key strategic issues facing the higher education and research sectors

Term and Remuneration:

This is a fixed-term full-time appointment for 5 years. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and relevant experience and qualifications.
