Experienced Tennis Coach

The Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1884 and is one of Australia's preeminent sporting and social clubs. Located in the Melbourne suburb of Toorak, the Club has 4,650 members and over 100 staff. Our tennis coaching is at the forefront of our Member offering and is a vital part of Club life.

A Club steeped in the history of Australian tennis, Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club boasts a range of world-class facilities, available to its Members and their guests.  It provides extensive facilities for competitive and social tennis (26 tennis courts) and squash, fitness classes, croquet, a gymnasium, 25 metre swimming pool and billiards room. The sporting amenities are supported by extensive hospitality services including a restaurant, bistro, bars, function rooms and a variety of accommodation.

Reporting to our Head of Coaching, John McCurdy, you will work across the Club's various coaching offerings including:

· hot shots, juniors and adult coaching

· developing coaching programs and drills to develop players skills, technique and game strategy

· analysing matches and sessions and providing feedback to players and parents on player development

· Member engagement.

· coaching of high-performance athletes.

You will be expected to deliver exceptional on court coaching services. It is envisaged that a minimum of 80% of the role will be on court coaching but this will likely vary at different times of the year and with consideration of the objectives of the person in the role.

Qualifications, experience and attributes

· Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach (or equivalent)

· Substantial experience playing and coaching tennis.

· Experience playing and coaching padel and/or pickleball is advantageous but not a necessity.

· Strong communication and motivational abilities.

Salary Range

• $75,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation of 12%
