Community Legal WA (CLWA) is the peak body for Western Australian community legal services (CLS), which has 25 members including community legal centres (CLCs) and Aboriginal Community Controlled Family Violence Prevention Legal Services.
The National Accreditation Scheme (NAS) is a sector-led, national accreditation quality improvement, compliance and certification process for community legal services (CLS).
CLWA is seeking to establish a pool of WA-based independent Contract Reviewers to provide accreditation assessment, reports and recommendations to implement the NAS and improve the quality of community legal services across Western Australia.
About the roleThe role undertakes accreditation assessment and period review:
· Conduct detailed accreditation assessments in keeping with NAS Standards and Guidelines to ensure compliance with the requirements of the scheme.
· Writes reports and provide recommendations and support to the Certifier.
Work closely with the Quality and Governance Coordinator, other staff and Contract Reviewers to ensure consistent implementation of the NAS:
· Training and onboarding.
· Regular liaison with CLWA staff to support administration and scheduling.
· Attend (paid) biannual workshops to support improvements and consistent implementation of the scheme.
· Undertake own administrative tasks and maintain document management and information systems.
Selection Criteria- Demonstrated experience in assessing accreditation and quality improvement in the not-for-profit sector.
- Experience using compliance, quality standards or other methods to enhance performance, manage risk, and support organisational development and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to review an organisation's documents and assess whether it demonstrates compliance with the National Accreditation Scheme.
- Demonstrable skills in report writing.
- Qualifications in quality, governance or risk, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A strong track record in initiating and implementing improvements and solutions to deliver good practice organisational policy and procedures.
- High level stakeholder engagement skills to manage complex and sensitive relationships, including the ability to consult, communicate, provide feedback and build productive connections across the CLS sector, for mutual benefit towards shared goals.
- Commitment to meeting timelines and reporting requirements.
- High level of computer literacy including all areas of MS365 and the ability to learn other platforms to ensure accurate systems and record management.
Highly Desirable
- Ability to undertaken occasional travel to regional and remote locations in WA.
- Understanding of the operations of CLS and the various contexts in which they operate, and the diversity of their operations.
Contract conditions
- Hours: Estimated 4-6 reviews per year at estimated 30 hours per review, plus occasional other paid hours
- Salary: $110 per hour, negotiable
