Commissioning Engineer – Renewables & Grid Connections

An opportunity has opened for an experienced
Commissioning Engineer
to join major renewable energy projects in Australia. You'll play a hands-on role in bringing large-scale solar, wind, and battery systems online and ensuring successful grid connection.

What you'll be doing:

  • Commissioning HV/LV electrical systems, protection schemes, and controls for renewable generation and storage projects
  • Carrying out system testing including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional checks
  • Supporting AEMO compliance processes, including R1 model reviews and participation in R2 on-site validation testing
  • Executing commissioning plans, ITPs, and FAT/SAT procedures to ensure smooth energisation
  • Collaborating with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical issues during commissioning
  • Ensuring all systems meet GPS, safety, and compliance requirements for grid connection

What you'll bring:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent trade background
  • Proven commissioning experience in HV substations, renewable energy assets, or grid-connected plant
  • Familiarity with AEMO R1/R2 testing processes (highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of protection, SCADA, and control systems
  • Ability to deliver under project deadlines with a safety-first approach
