Summary of Role

  • Performing hourly quality checks on moulded plastic parts.

  • Conducting work in a safe manner and demonstrating a strong commitment to SDI's values of passion, accountability, respect, teamwork and innovation.

  • Maintains a high level of cleanliness in the department.

  • Maintaining enough raw material plastic for their shift and part of the next shift.

Specific Responsibilites

  • Performs hourly quality checks according to the relevant production form

  • Maintains enough raw material on all jobs for their shift and into the next shift

  • Make sure any material, including masterbatch is available for any changes on the shift.

  • Participate in toolbox meetings / daily safety – quality whiteboard meetings

  • Completes all relevant paperwork for hourly checks and raw material

  • Basic troubleshooting for plastic parts which do not meet specifications on the hourly checklist

  • Maintains a clean department according to the Moulding Cleaning Checklist

Job Environment

  • The position is located at Bayswater

  • Working hours: 38 hrs per week on a 2-week rotating shift covering day shift, afternoon shift and night shift.

Essential Experience

  • On the job training provided

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge and skills

  • Ability to read and write English

  • Good verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent team working, organisational and time management skills.

  • Good understanding of company organization and structure, familiarity with relevant SDI policies and procedures and knowledge of day to day operation and terminology.
