Senior Manager Business Credit

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Bank of Queensland Full time $104,000 - $130,878 per year

About the Role

Are you ready to shape the future of business lending at BOQ Group?

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and commercially astute Senior Manager Business Credit to join our Group Risk team. This pivotal role is all about making smart credit decisions that drive growth while safeguarding our risk appetite. You'll be at the heart of our credit assessment process - analysing, structuring, and decisioning SME and Middle Market submissions with precision and purpose.

What makes this role truly exciting? It is at the heart of our transformational journey which will see you collaborate closely with our Retail teams, our Business Bank and of course, to ensure loans are signed off efficiently and effectively. Your insights will help shape the way we do business - ensuring every deal is structured to succeed and every risk is understood and managed.

You'll also play a key role in mentoring others, fostering a best-practice risk culture, and contributing to strategic initiatives that support BOQ Group's growth ambitions. Whether it's attending strategic meetings, visiting customers, or influencing credit policy, your impact will be felt across the organisation

About you

You're a seasoned professional in credit or retail finance, bringing a strong skill set and experience from a similar role. You have a deep understanding of credit risk, or perhaps you come from a relationship management background - where engaging with customers and credit writing is second nature - but now you're ready to transition into the world of credit approvals. That's right - you've exercised credit approval authority within a major financial institution and know how to interpret financial statements and corporate structures with precision.

You bring a strong customer focus, both internally and externally, and thrive in collaborative environments. Your ability to communicate with empathy and clarity - whether in reports, meetings, or one-on-one conversations - sets you apart.

You're curious, inclusive, and you care about everyone around you - be it customers or fellow colleagues. If you're ready to make a difference and help us deliver smarter, faster, and more effective lending outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

Working at BOQ Group is fun, fast-paced, and full of opportunity. We're looking for smart, energetic, and passionate people to help drive our multi-brand banking group forward. We prioritise a customer-first mindset, outcomes-driven thinking, agility, and strong risk management - If that sounds like you, let's chat
