We are currently seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Engineering team permanently as they develop their career within our manufacturing industry.
This role is based at our Port Melbourne facility and is 100% onsite.
About the role:
Working alongside diverse and experienced engineers as part of the Melbourne Engineering team, you will support a range of stakeholders from design and leadership through to shop floor across multiple programs.
As an Industrial Engineer you will support the design and improve the manufacturing and production processes using Lean manufacturing and other improvement concepts.
Position Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for Production line balancing / optimization and rate readiness
- Perform job observations to define time/ labour standards and identify waste
- Identify key constraints in the manufacturing system
- Perform cost benefit analysis
- Develop production recovery plans
- Update factory visual management systems
- Support continuous improvement and Lean activities to improve flow, cost and increase rate
- Support Continuous improvement workshops and perform problem solving (AIWs / 3P)
- Support One Boeing Production System maturity
- Provide key inputs to support flow-oriented factory layouts
- Ensure compliance to process requirements and procedures
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Safety, quality and people focused
- Positive relationship building and stakeholder leadership skills
- Excellent communicator
- Experience working in a manufacturing support engineering role
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and production improvement processes
- All candidates must have full, unrestricted working rights
This is an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement position and can classified as either an Engineer 1A or 1B depending on experience. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
