We are a globally recognised private equity manager; headquartered in Melbourne.
Our small team of high performers is seeking an outstanding FP&A / Business Analyst to help manage our existing diverse portfolio of businesses and to help identify and evaluate potential acquisitions.
2-5 years in Transaction Services (or similar roles) would be good preparation for this role.
The role
The FP&A / Business Analyst is a key member of our Melbourne headquarters team. This role includes occasional domestic travel to investees / potential investees.
The role:
- reviews, interrogates, and conducts analysis on a wide range reports from our investees and/or potential investees;
- delivers excellence in financial analysis and reporting; and
- supports system and process improvement projects.
This is a hands on role with a significant amount of variety, responding to business needs as they develop.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to identify issues and business challenges, communicate them effectively, work independently, and prioritise work effectively. They will enjoy liasing with financial controllers / CFOs and business managers, investigating and actioning business needs. They will also gain exposure to a wide range of ad hoc special projects and M&A processes.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of personal development and we will strongly support its continuation.
What you'll need
- Tertiary qualification in accounting (and ideally a CA);
At least two years of highly analytical experience likely gained in Transaction Services (or similar roles);
Excellent accounting, analysis, and review capabilities;
- Outstanding accuracy;
- A high level of curiosity with a love for the detail;
- Enjoys working across a variety of business contexts;
- A 'can do' attitude and a passion for learning more;
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights.
