Your New Role
As the Work Health & Safety (WHS) Business Partner to drive a proactive, collaborative safety culture across our Hobart, Launceston, and Devonport sites. This role can be based at any of our three locations. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will work closely with leaders and employees at all levels to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and foster safe, sustainable workplaces.
In addition to WHS responsibilities, you will oversee the management and continual improvement of our integrated management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO Safety) and ISO 9001 (Quality).
This is a hands-on role where you will provide guidance, lead critical WHS initiatives, and ensure our systems, practices, and people align with legislation, industry standards, and Top Centre Laundry's values.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with managers and employees to embed a strong safety culture across all sites.
- Lead risk assessments and review Safe Work Procedures to ensure effective, consistent controls.
- Oversee incident investigations, corrective actions, and the sharing of learnings.
- Maintain current knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Coordinate safety committees, consultation processes, and staff engagement on WHS matters.
- Develop and deliver WHS training, inductions, and awareness programs.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to the leadership team.
- Manage Workers' Compensation and return-to-work programs.
- Maintain and continually improve ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 systems.
- Plan and coordinate internal audits, management reviews, and external certification audits.
- Maintain consistent documentation across all sites.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across WHS, quality, and environment.
Your Background
This role will suit an experienced safety professional who enjoys partnering with leaders and teams to build practical, people-focused solutions. We are looking for someone who can combine technical WHS knowledge with strong relationship and influencing skills, and has experience managing ISO-certified systems.
Ideally, you will have:
- Demonstrated WHS experience in manufacturing, transport, logistics, or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 45001 or ISO 9001 certification management.
- Practical experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Confidence in delivering training and engaging with staff at all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant WHS qualifications (Cert IV or Diploma minimum).
- Lead Auditor qualifications (desirable but not essential).
