At Arrow Transport, Logistics and Quarantine Services, we're more than a transport company. We're a national team keeping supply chains moving across Australia. With operations spanning road, port, quarantine and logistics services, our reputation is built on being reliable, customer-focused and forward-thinking. As we grow, we're raising the bar on how we support our people and how we manage safety. We're building a culture where safety and accountability go hand in hand, where checklists are backed by action and improvements lead to real change.
To support this, we are seeking a hands-on
Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor
to join our
NSW
operations based at our
Chullora depot
and play a critical role in protecting the health, safety and welfare of our teams. In this role, you'll take ownership across the full safety lifecycle from inspections, toolbox talks and incident investigations through to SWMS development, registers and closing out corrective actions.
You won't just advise, you will take ownership, follow through, and get things done. By supporting managers and working directly with our people, you'll help embed safe practices, manage risks and strengthen our safety culture across VIC sites.
Key Responsibilities
- HSE Management System: Support VIC sites in applying system requirements; educate teams on fundamentals; implement initiatives from the HSE Leadership Committee.
- Incident & Emergency Management: Assist with emergency planning, wardens and first aid; lead or support investigations using ICAM methodology; recommend, track and close corrective actions.
- Hazardous Substances & Equipment: Manage registers, assessments and controls; coordinate safety equipment inspections (e.g., Test & Tag).
- Risk Management: Partner with managers, subcontractors and workers to identify, assess and control risks; prepare, develop and review SWMS; promote proactive hazard identification.
- Workplace Inspections & Compliance: Carry out weekly formal inspections and daily COR/task checks; review permits to work and ensure compliance with WHS, COR and company requirements.
- Return to Work Support: Assist the RTW Coordinator with injured worker plans and ensure compliance with legislation and company policy.
- Engagement & Education: Deliver inductions, toolbox/pre-start meetings and safety committee sessions; build awareness of safety responsibilities across all levels.
Your skills and experience:
- Diploma (or Cert IV) in WHS/OHS (essential).
- Experience in HSE within transport, logistics, warehousing or other high-risk industries.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, COR and risk management practices.
- Demonstrated experience with inspections, risk assessments, investigations and SWMS.
- Ability to prepare accurate compliance documentation and follow through on actions.
- Confidence engaging with both frontline teams and senior leaders.
- A proactive, sleeves-up mindset – you'll be known for owning tasks and seeing them through.
Why Join Arrow?
- Join a supportive HSE team with guidance from the HSE Manager and the backing of senior leadership
- Be part of a growing national business where safety is central to success.
- A role with real influence – ensuring safety is lived every day, not just written in policy.
- Opportunity to make a tangible difference to the wellbeing of our people and the strength of our operations.
- Join a culture that is evolving, action-driven, and genuinely values its people.
If you're an HSE professional who thrives on action, accountability and results, apply today and help us strengthen safety at Arrow.
