About Us:

We are passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive community and are looking for like-minded individuals to join us in delivering services that transform lives.

Position Summary

As the Operations Manager of the Vinnies Women's Crisis Centre (VWCC), you will play a key leadership role in delivering compassionate, high-quality crisis accommodation and support services to women and children experiencing domestic violence, family violence, sexual violence, or homelessness. This role combines operational management with a deep commitment to trauma-informed care, ensuring safety, dignity, and a pathway to recovery for all clients.

Your leadership will foster a positive and supportive team culture, drive continuous service improvement, and ensure the Centre operates efficiently and in full compliance with regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for financial management, resource allocation, and risk compliance, maintaining the Centre as a trusted place of refuge and hope for women in crisis.

The VWCC is a 20-room facility that operates 24/7, providing a unique crisis intervention model that combines accommodation with comprehensive wraparound services. The Centre offers a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment, where women can receive all meals, have access to serviced rooms, laundry, and other services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example to create a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture, promoting staff wellbeing, growth, and professional development.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and client-centred crisis accommodation and support services, providing a safe and supportive environment for women and children experiencing crisis.
  • Ensure adherence to Work Health and Safety (WHS), safeguarding standards, funding agreements, and relevant legislation to minimise operational risks and maintain service quality.
  • Administer the VWCC operational budget, ensuring financial sustainability and effective resource allocation to maintain 24/7 service continuity.
  • Provide ongoing support and professional development for staff and volunteers through coaching, supervision, and team engagement, ensuring high levels of service delivery and team resilience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organisations, and service providers, to enhance service outcomes for clients.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of VWCC services, identifying and implementing innovative practices and pursuing opportunities for service development in line with best practice and sector trends.
