WHAT IS LEETON CONNECT?

Leeton Connect commenced in 2019 with a vision of a central hub for Not-for-Profit (NFP) groups in the Leeton Local Government Area (LGA).

The aim is to coordinate community knowledge, skills and resources by creating and maintaining databases and creating community engagement and networking opportunities.

Primarily, the purpose of Leeton Connect is exactly as the name implies, to connect the Leeton community via networking, participation, up-skilling, capacity building, collaboration and inclusion.

HOW DO I FIT IN?

Reporting to the Leeton Connect Stakeholder Engagement Officer (SEO), you will assist the SEO in their role through completing various administrative duties in an office setting and from time to time at an event or workshop venue. You are confident using office software so you can hit the ground running without needing any training.

You are someone who finds satisfaction in keeping an orderly digital work environment and in improving the integrity of record keeping. You believe in a place for everything, and everything in its place, which is why you will be a valuable team member for this short term contract.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to emails and phone calls on behalf of the organisation.
  • Proof-read and format business documents.
  • Input data into databases from multiple sources.
  • Assist the Leeton Connect Stakeholder Engagement Officer in preparing materials and equipment for events and other engagement activities.
  • Track business documentation and manage the flow of documentation between Leeton Connect and its stakeholders, including funding bodies, government departments, private businesses, and members.
  • Maintain cordial professional relationships with stakeholders, your fellow staff members, and the Management Sub-Committee of Leeton Connect.
  • Track and monitor the Leeton Connect social media presence, including uploading new posts as instructed and responding to comments and enquiries from members of the public.
  • Follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policy and directions.

KEY CAPABILITIES

  • Good level of written and spoken English language skills.
  • Familiarity with many different communication styles, including email, written letters, factual reports, briefing notes, and meeting minutes.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Confidently make use of a range of digital tools, including the MS Office suite, Windows, internet browsers, file directories, online forms, basic image manipulation, and email campaign products.
  • Confident in interacting with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent time management skills, including realistic goal setting and the ability to collaborate with colleagues for the best outcomes for the organisation.
  • Polite and engaging phone manner.

DESIRABLE CAPABILITIES

The following skills and experience will be looked on favourably but are not essential for the position:

  • Experience in, or willingness to complete further training in, website content management.
