Austral Ag is Toowoomba's newest independent Agricultural Store specialising in stock water solutions, horticulture, animal health, feed and general Ag Supplies, providing sales both in store and online.

Originating in the N.T, our business also has established branches trading as Northern Stock Water in Cloncurry, Darwin and Katherine. Austral Ag is the newest addition to our long standing business.

We currently have the opportunity for a full-time Rural Merchandise Sales & Storeperson to join our team and help progress the growth of the store.

This position would suit someone either experienced in rural retail sales or someone with a customer service background with an interest in agriculture and animals. The successful applicant will be expected to take an active part in all areas of the branch including but not limited to sales, eCommerce support, administration, merchandising, stocktaking, ordering, loading/unloading and store opening/closing. We're looking for a team player with a can-do attitude.

What skills and experience do you need to succeed in this role?

  • A knowledge or understanding of horticulture, water solutions, agricultural chemicals, animal health, stock feeds and fencing would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Sales experience in a similar environment will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long term business relationships to maximise sales and encourage repeat business
  • Ability to work productively in a small team
  • Experience in inward and outward goods as well as good mathematical skills being an advantage
  • Administration and sound computer skills with POS and Microsoft applications
  • Physically fit to perform manual work and heavy lifting as required
  • A strong focus on Work Health & Safety
  • Drivers licence essential
  • Forklift Licence is desired but not essential
