Located in the heart of Greville Street, Prahran, Rossi Bar brings together Neapolitan-style pizza, handmade pasta, late-night cocktails, and curated music to create a truly immersive dining experience.
We're passionate about quality, consistency, and creativity and we're looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and continue building on our reputation for great food and atmosphere.
About the Role
As Head Chef, you'll oversee all aspects of the kitchen, from menu development and service execution to team leadership and kitchen operations.
You'll bring a hands-on, creative approach while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and inspire a small, dedicated kitchen team.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including prep, service, and rostering.
- Design and execute seasonal menus and weekly specials.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet Rossi standards.
- Oversee ordering, stock control, and cost management.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fast-paced, quality-driven venue.
- Full working rights in Australia
- Proven experience with budgeting, cost control, managing food costs with target margins
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Highly experienced with Italian cuisine including pizza and pasta.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Creative flair and a drive for innovation.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture.
