About the opportunity

The Communications Manager is part of the team that carries responsibility for protecting and enhancing Australia Post's reputation and its social licence to operate, which is achieved through the delivery of Australia Post's communications strategy.

What you'll deliver with us

Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, you will help to implement and bring to life AP's positions and decisions. Critical to this role will be working collaboratively across the enterprise and business teams. You will build effective relationships at all levels of the business and develop a deep understanding of business needs and stakeholder audiences.

You'll also

  • Help deliver on the Communications strategy and think about strategic initiatives that will improve communication for our team members
  • Build trusted relationships with leaders across the entire business, prepare creative and compelling content, briefs, messaging, and presentations as needed
  • Work with Business Unit teams to develop a deep understanding of the particular interests, agendas, issues, and opportunities to work collaboratively with Parcel, Post & eCommerce Services
  • Support key enterprise projects and initiatives by developing and advising on communications approaches to enhance team member and stakeholder engagement
  • Collaborate with the wider Communications team to ensure consistency of business messages and alignment with enterprise-wide programs
  • Help manage the calendar of communications activity and work with the Head of Team and Senior Communications Manager to identify opportunities for innovation for the Team and manage innovation projects

About you

You are an experienced and creative communications expert in your field. Content is your passion, and creating campaigns is second nature. Action-oriented, creative, and driven by data, you are organised, efficient, adaptable, and have a solution-focused attitude. You're inquisitive, proactive, eager to get stuff done, and enjoy building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the business.

What are we looking for?

  • 6+ years' experience as a communications professional in a large, complex, and highly regulated organization
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications or a related discipline
  • Exceptional organisation skills to manage multiple initiatives at once
  • Project management skills to ensure that large scale programs are planned, run, and evaluated efficiently and consistently
  • Understanding of issues and reputational impact, resourceful and willing to find quick and efficient solutions
  • Expert skills in oral and written communications
