Position Details

Position: Chef

Employment Type: Full-time, ongoing

Salary: $77,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation and other benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and cook a diverse range of dishes according to the café's menu and quality standards
  • Develop new menu items and seasonal specials in line with customer preferences and food trends
  • Oversee kitchen operations to ensure smooth daily service
  • Supervise, train, and support kitchen and junior staff
  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with health regulations
  • Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation consistency
  • Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control food costs to minimize wastage
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
  • Ensure equipment and kitchen facilities are maintained in good working condition
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional team culture within the kitchen

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen management
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and service
