ABOUT THE ROLE:

In this role, you'll oversee occupational hygiene programs, support early injury management, and help drive practical, proactive health initiatives across the site.

This position suits someone with an allied health or occupational hygiene background who wants to blend fieldwork, data analysis, and hands-on injury support in a dynamic mining environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Coordinate NGF's Occupational Hygiene Monitoring Program (dust, noise, heat, DPM and other exposures).
• Manage external hygiene contractors and review the quality of deliverables.
• Maintain accurate hygiene data, submit regulatory reports, and identify trends or emerging risks.
• Conduct workplace inspections and exposure-risk verifications across site.
• Provide early intervention support following injuries and coordinate suitable duties.
• Support workers' compensation and return-to-work plans in collaboration with HR and external providers.
• Coordinate and conduct fit testing, health surveillance programs, and periodical medical reviews.
• Deliver training and toolbox content on hygiene risks, injury reporting and health promotion.
• Review and update Health & Hygiene procedures, standards and guidance materials.
• Assist with investigations where exposure or health factors may have contributed to an incident.
• Liaise with statutory bodies (e.g., DMIRS) as required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Hygiene, Health Science, OHS or related discipline.
• Understanding of occupational hygiene principles and workplace health risks.
• Experience in injury management, rehab or manual handling assessments (highly regarded).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage workers and leaders confidently.
• Ability to interpret monitoring data and provide practical, actionable advice.
• Experience with WHS legislation (WHS Act 2020 & WHS Mines Regulations 2022).

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with WHS data systems.

• Experience coordinating hygiene programs.

• Exposure to workers' compensation processes.
• Return-to-Work Coordinator certification (or willingness to obtain).
