The Family Lawyer is a growing, boutique family law firm recognised for its modern approach, compassion, and strategic expertise in resolving complex family law matters.

With offices across Melbourne and a reputation for practical, client-focused solutions, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding outcomes with professionalism, integrity, and care.

We are now seeking a talented Associate Family Lawyer to join our team. You will work closely with the Partner and Senior Associate as well as the rest of the team of highly skilled family lawyers dedicated to supporting clients through all aspects of separation, parenting, and property settlement matters. There is also a few cheeky dogs in the mix and the occasional cat.

About the Role

You will be part of a progressive and supportive practice, managing a varied and stimulating caseload across all areas of family law, including:

• Property settlements involving complex financial structures and Binding Financial Agreements
• Parenting and relocation matters
• Child support and enforcement
• De facto and spousal maintenance cases
• Family violence matters
• Estate planning and conveyancing as they relate to family law matters

In this role, you will:

• Manage your own files with autonomy and confidence while receiving guidance from senior practitioners
• Work collaboratively with a passionate and close-knit team that values growth, innovation, and balance
• Engage in strategic negotiations and Court advocacy
• Contribute to thought leadership and the continued expansion of our reputable brand

About You

This role will suit a Family Lawyer who is:

• Experienced in family law with at least 2 years' PAE
• Skilled in managing property and parenting matters independently
• Experienced in conducting mediations and appearing in mentions, directions hearings, and other non-contentious Court events, confidently managing client communication and ensuring matters progress efficiently
• Proficient in negotiation, drafting, and advocacy before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Magistrates Court
• Professional, empathetic, and client-focused in approach
• A collaborative team player who enjoys contributing to a positive, supportive, and high-performing workplace

Pay: $112,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
