About the Role

As a mid level Back-end Engineer at Bilue, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, scalable digital products for our clients. This is a great opportunity for someone with Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot experience who is looking to contribute meaningfully to real-world projects, and continue developing their technical capabilities in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable and secure back-end services using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with front-end developers, delivery managers, and QA engineers to implement full-stack solutions
• Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and pair programming sessions
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that aligns with industry best practices
• Contribute to system design conversations and propose improvements to architecture and workflows
• Debug and resolve issues in production and development environments
• Ensure the high performance and responsiveness of applications

About You

You're a curious and capable developer who enjoys working on complex challenges and delivering scalable solutions. You value collaboration, take pride in clean code, and are looking to continue growing your backend expertise as part of a high-performing team dedicated to building quality products for clients.

• 3–5 years of professional experience in back-end development with Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and service-oriented architecture
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM tools like Hibernate
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Basic knowledge of containerisation and deployment tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK, Grafana)
• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Awareness of performance and security best practices in back-end development
