About the Team
The Vacated Accounts Management Team (VAMT) is part of the Service Delivery Assurance Hub (SDAH) within Homes NSW. VAMT is responsible for reconciling accounts for vacated tenants across Housing Services. The team works with client services teams to ensure timely processing of refunds and debt recovery in compliance with Treasury Directions and the Public Finance and Audit Act. In addition to account reconciliation, VAMT oversees water management for Homes NSW providing operational support and guidance to Client Service Teams.
Your role
As the Assistant Project Officer, Water Management, you will play a key role within VAMT overseeing the review and resolution of water charges and disputes. This includes liaising with water authorities, managing investigations and reporting on water related matters.
Your work will contribute to a fair and transparent system that supports equitable access to housing services. You will be responsible for the oversight of the end-to-end processing of water charge issues, ensuring Homes NSW operations teams are supported with accurate and timely information.
What you'll do
- Provide project and operational support, including monitoring, reviewing and managing disputes in relation to water charges.
Liaising with various stakeholders including Water Authorities.
Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant to water charges issues, policies and practices to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding water charge status and implementation issues.
- Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating and preparing responses to stakeholders and housing services teams to support water management delivery.
You will be expected to navigate a dynamic high-volume environment balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines. Success in this role requires: -
- The ability to identify and respond to risks quickly and effectively
- Strong Stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- A commitment to delivering high quality reviews compliant with policy and procedure in a high-volume work environment.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this position, you will possess exceptional organizational and time management skills, with proficiency in managing high-volume, end-to-end investigations, while maintaining accurate tracking and detail reporting to ensure progress.
You will also demonstrate:
- A thorough understanding of Tenancy management and housing policies is highly recommended.
- Sound decision making skills, capable of exercising good judgement under pressure and contributing to effective outcomes through thoughtful analysis and collaboration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports, adhoc responses as required and able to collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience using DCJ IT systems, including knowledge of Homes and the current maintenance system, is highly regarded but not essential. Training and support will be provided for successful candidates.
