BestWest Building is an established and WA owned Independent Building Inspection & Pest Control company, providing a premium service throughout Perth, Mandurah and the Southwest. We are currently looking for a Building Inspector to join our team on a full-time permanent contract.

About the role:

As a Building Inspector you will work autonomously to ensure both pre-purchase buildings and/or new builds are compliant with the relevant WA Building codes highlighting any major defects and or Building Code Non Compliance being a priority. This will include the following:

  • Taking Photographic evidence on every inspection
  • Writing report based on your inspections
  • Utilising the relevant computer system
  • Giving reference to the appropriate Building Code or Australian Standard

About you:

  • Hold a current Builder's Registration (Essential)
  • Computer Proficiency is Essential
  • Previous experience in pre-purchase building inspections and construction progress inspections (advantageous)
  • Certified for timber pest inspections (preferred)
  • A core Trade Background such as bricklaying or roof carpentry would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the National Construction Code
  • Knowledge of the AS4349 & AS4349.1 would be beneficial
  • A sharp eye for detail
  • Be enthusiastic, reliable, presentable, objective and honest
  • Previous experience with digital reports (desirable but not essential as training can be provided)
  • Excellent literacy & communication skills essential
  • Self-motivated with good time management
  • Highly organised individual
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise various projects simultaneously in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ability to work autonomously and part of a team
  • As is required for site access, Proof of vaccination is essential and a condition of employment.
