Operations Manager - Brisbane

Solid Ground Landscaping is a fast growing, reputable, commercial landscaping company working with some of Queensland's most recognized schools, sporting facilities and private sector clients.

We have an exciting full time opportunityavailable for an Operations Manager to support our expanding maintenance and turf renovation operations. This hands-on leadership role would suit someone with strong organizational skills, experience with coordinating teams, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients. You will work closely with the CEO, State Manager and Operations Supervisor to ensure our projects run smoothly, safely and efficiently. The successful applicant will have experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, landscape construction or similar, and be an efficient problem solver, a confident communicator, time manager, and planner, who truly understands people and can lead them.

Work will involve:

  • Reporting directly to the State Manager (Qld).
  • Supervision of all field operations including Landscape maintenance and enhancements, and sports field maintenance.
  • Coordination and scheduling of our maintenance teams.
  • Working directly with the Operations Supervisor to develop, motivate and lead your teams across numerous sites.
  • Supervise and ensure the safe operation and transportation of all vehicles, plant/equipment including performing routine checks and scheduling maintenance/servicing.
  • Ensure implementation and delivery of timelines, deadlines and routines in conjunction with our client needs and schedules.
  • Managing sub-contractors that are engaged by Solid Ground Landscaping including insurances, SWMS and risk assessments.
  • Drive growth initiatives for the existing landscape maintenance division.
  • Visiting all sites regularly to carry out QA inspections and WH&S audits.
  • Ongoing client engagement on-site, including in-person client meetings.
  • Maintaining and updating the Asset Register.
  • Staff recruitment, induction and performance management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years industry experience (Turf management experience desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in leading teams preferred
  • An eagerness to learn with a 'can-do' attitude
  • Strong work ethic with outstanding time management skills
  • Motivation, reliability, honesty, and strong initiative
  • Good presentation and strong communication skills
  • A valid driver's licence is essential
  • Positive Notice Blue Card (or able to obtain)
