Care Team Leader

We are looking for a Care Team Leader to join our team on a fulltime permanent basis. As a Care Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting and mentoring direct care staff to provide quality care to clients and carers within the community. You will report directly to the Regional Managers and work closely with them to ensure that our workforce deliver safe and quality services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and support to direct care employees to promote ongoing development, to ensure competence in role requirements and compliance with policy and procedures.
- Ensure services delivered are according to RDNS Silverchain values of integrity, respect, trust and compassion and that they are cost effective and compliant with relevant legislative requirements.
- Oversee the induction process for all new direct care staff, ensuring all training and equipment is available to them so that they are set up for success in their new role.
- Oversee and manage the quality of service delivery to clients.
- Be the key contact for our clients and staff within your region
- Lead and manage the day to day operations within your region to ensure high quality, consistent service delivery.
- Communicate effectively and inclusively with the team to keep them informed of relevant information.
- Meet with client's in their homes to complete paperwork and facilitate commencement of their services with RDNS
The ideal candidate will have a strong background within the Aged Care Industry. With the ability to, demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Qualification in leadership or equivalent experience required
- Previous experience in a direct care role or significant understanding of the complexities in delivering care within the community. Desirable
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team.
- Well-developed communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships at all levels and resolve staff issues.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and email/calendar management to prepare correspondence and effective documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating and working effectively within and across teams and departments.
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills to manage the provision of quality client care.
- Demonstrated understanding of aged care within the community setting.
- Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and awareness of incoming strengthened standards.
- Demonstrated understanding of incident and complaint management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage difficult employee issues with tact and diplomacy while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
- Knowledge of manual handling principles.
