About Your Opportunity
You will support the activities associated with implementing energy strategy and Sustainability/ NetZero targets at Seqwater. As the Energy Advisor you will support the activities associated with identification and implementation of energy efficiency projects through operational discipline and process improvement. You will also support the engagement with key internal and external stakeholders including strategy owners, planners, project managers and energy retailers. Managing technical and non-technical professionals as required you will deliver feasibility investigations, option analysis, scoping and business case development to support the Principal and Senior Energy Advisor in managing the overall energy efficiency program.
This Role Is Responsible For
- Support and manage the energy efficiency projects through feasibility investigations, audits, option analysis, scoping and business case development for energy efficiency projects.
- Develop planning and business case documentation to secure funding and enable efficient project delivery through Seqwater's gateway process.
- Collaborate with Regional Process Engineering and Control System Maintenance teams to assess asset operations for the identified energy efficiency opportunities to progress through the Management of Change (MoC) process
- Lead change management for treatment process improvements related to identified energy efficiency opportunities, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk assessment based on the Right way to Operate
- Comply with Seqwater's WHS, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Leader.
Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science (e.g. mechanical, process/chemical, electrical, civil).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in energy project management, including feasibility, planning, design, and risk assessment.
- Proven ability to work in diverse teams, delivering outcomes on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate investment needs and business cases.
- Alignment with Seqwater values.
- Qualifications in energy management (highly desirable).
- Experience in the water, electricity, or utilities sector, with knowledge of energy use in utilities (desirable).
- Ability to simplify complex processes to identify opportunities and collaborate on solutions.
- Demonstrated delivery of electrical and energy-related projects.
- Self-driven with initiative and sound judgement, escalating issues appropriately.
This position has a competitive salary range of $115,844 - $128,520 p.a (dependant on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, temporary position until 30 Jun 2026 with the possibility of extension.
