The Opportunity

As General Manager, you will take ownership of the operational strategy and work closely with the Director to shape and drive the venue's overall direction. From refined guest experiences to operational efficiency, this role requires a leader who embodies professionalism, vision, and a passion for excellence. You will be responsible not only for service standards, but also for strong commercial outcomes through cost control, revenue generation, and strategic financial management.

Candidates with nightclub, late-trading, and gaming experience — as well as the ability to hold the venue's license — will be highly regarded.

Your Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of operational strategy and work closely with the Director to shape and drive the venue's overall direction
  • Lead all areas of venue operations, compliance, and service standards
  • Oversee financial performance, cost control, wage forecasting, and P&L reporting
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, driving culture and performance
  • Maintain world-class guest service standards and operational excellence
  • Drive profitability through effective cost control, revenue growth, and stock management
  • Identify and drive new revenue opportunities across events, functions, partnerships, and local community engagement
  • Implement and refine efficient systems and processes across the business
  • Ensure compliance, licensing, and safety to the highest standards (including holding the venue's license)
  • Collaborate closely with ownership to deliver growth and innovation

About You

  • 5+ years in a senior venue leadership role
  • Experience in multi-space or high-volume venues (bars, events, nightclubs, entertainment, gaming)
  • Extensive experience in gaming operations & customer engagement
  • Strong commercial acumen with budgeting and financial reporting skills
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, late-night environment
  • Proactive, hands-on and highly adaptable
  • Working knowledge of NSW Liquor & Gaming compliance, RSA and WHS
  • Holds their license or willing to obtain one
  • Well-connected within the hospitality industry, with strong local networks
  • Experience liaising with creatives, promoters, and high-end clientele is a plus
  • Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold valid work visa rights
