Primary objective

Implement the Department of Education and Training's talent attraction strategy and associated projects and initiatives to promote

the department as an employer of choice, focused on attracting teachers, principals and allied health professionals to Northern

Territory Government schools.

Context statement

The Talent Attraction and Recruitment branch facilitates the supply of a quality educational workforce to ensure that Northern

Territory Government schools can provide quality education to Territory children. Reporting to the Assistant Director – Attraction,

the Attraction Consultant has a pivotal role in implementing the talent attraction strategy.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Coordinates, develops, and implements high level, strategic attraction promotional content to build the Teach in the Territory

brand, maximising the use of digital media and marketing including social media platforms.

2. Develops and delivers the Teach in the Territory social media strategy with a focus on brand and community building.

  1. Prepares tailored messages for diverse audiences using a range of communication techniques and marketing platforms.
  2. Maintains the Teach in the Territory website, providing regular analysis.

  3. Implements events such as online employer information sessions and attendance of university led career expos to generate

awareness and strengthen relationships.

6. Support partnerships with internal and external, local, and national level stakeholders to support educational and professional

workforce attraction and recruitment.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated recent experience in contemporary communications, digital marketing, and graphic design.

2. Demonstrated communications and marketing knowledge with proven ability to develop campaigns to build brand awareness

that translates into action.

  1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills with ability to establish and sustain productive professional

relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

4. Sound probity, accountability, integrity, and empathy with the ability to work unsupervised as part of a small and busy team.

5. Sound knowledge of information systems and software applications that enable accurate, timely and meaningful reports.

6. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Desirable

1. Relevant tertiary education.
