About the role

Altrad is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Lead Estimator - Maintenance to join our Subiaco office on a full-time basis. In this role, you will lead estimating activities across maintenance projects, with a focus on labour rate development, structural integrity scopes, and the preparation of high-quality, commercially viable tenders. You'll play a key role in supporting business strategy, maintaining estimating standards, and driving successful project wins.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development, maintenance, and governance of labour rate models, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with EBAs, market data, and client requirements
• Providing specialist estimating input into structural integrity scopes, including scaffolding, rope access, SMP, and coatings
• Preparing and managing cost estimates for maintenance projects from enquiry through to submission and award
• Coordinating estimating resources, allocating work, and monitoring progress to meet deadlines
• Conducting risk assessments and commercial reviews across all estimates
• Liaising with clients, internal stakeholders, and operations to clarify scope, assumptions, and deliverables
• Supporting proposal teams with tender clarifications, presentations, and negotiations
• Maintaining estimating databases, norms, and historical records to drive continuous improvement
• Capturing lessons learned and feedback from bids and projects to refine estimating practices
• Mentoring and training junior estimators in maintenance methodologies

About you

• Demonstrated experience in maintenance estimating or estimating leadership roles within resources, energy, or industrial sectors
• Expertise in labour rate development and application of EBAs, allowances, and statutory requirements
• Strong knowledge of structural integrity works, including inspection, repair, and remediation scopes
• High commercial awareness and ability to balance accuracy with competitiveness
• Competent in estimating software, MS Excel, and database management
• Proven ability to manage multiple bids and resources under tight deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills
